Nominations Committee
It publicizes position vacancies, secures nominees and evaluates their
qualifications for candidacy.
Elections Committee
It conducts all elections.
Awards Committee
It coordinates all activities on publication,
description, nomination, selection and presentation of societal awards.
Bylaws and SOPs
Committee
It receives the proposed changes to the Bylaws and prepares said Amendments for
consideration. Also, Committee examines, considers, and approves appropriate
proposed changes to the standard operating procedures of the society.
Publications Editor,
Web Master
He/She coordinates the development and maintenance of current publications, as
well as facilitates the creation of new publications.
Finance Committee
It assists and advises on financial matters of the Society and prepares annual budget.
Scholarship Committee
It coordinates all activities on fund raising,
publication, description, nomination, selection and presentation of Societal
awards.
Scientific Assemblies
Assemblies assist with recommendations of topics and speakers. Their recommendations
may also be solicited for additional continuing education activities.
Each serves to provide expert consultation and technical reviewers for such
areas as examinations, conventions, continuing education, etc. in
discipline-related areas.
Government Liaison
Committee
It assists ASCLS and the Society in achieving objectives of influencing the
formulation of appropriate public (governmental) policy on health care issues
vital to the profession and the public.
Membership Development
Committee
It is responsible for the recruitment of members and
reactivation of lapsed members.
P.A.C.E. (Professional
Acknowledgment for Continuing Education) Committee
It serves to accomplish the goal of the P.A.C.E.
program which is to create a combined provider approval and education
documentation system for interested allied health professionals.
Committee on
Professional Affairs
It participates in the areas of activity including public image, membership
services, communications media, personnel development and employment security;
provides resources to improve the image of the Society and the profession;
strengthens relations with other health care professions; coordinates National
Medical Laboratory Week; and provides information on economic security to
members.
Student Coordinator
He/She coordinates the involvement and interest of students of clinical
laboratory science in the Society.
